What We're About

We are a recovery workshop with nearly 30 years of experience! Through working the 12 steps and 12 traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous we learn to be fully present and joyful in our lives.

What to Expect

We have speakers, meetings and break out sessions with a variety of topics during the day and into the evening. There is down time as well with an opportunity to reflect and work on your recovery, take in the scenery and fellowship with other women. Throughout the weekend you have the opportunity to learn, or at least begin, the process of applying the 12 steps and 12 traditions in your life.

“THE joy of living is the theme of A.A.’s Twelfth Step, and action is its key word. Here we turn outward toward our fellow alcoholics who are still in distress. Here we experience the kind of giving that asks no rewards. Here we begin to practice all Twelve Steps of the program in our daily lives so that we and those about us may find emotional sobriety. When the Twelfth Step is seen in its full implication, it is really talking about the kind of love that has no price tag on it.”  Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions pg 106

* Single and double rooms are limited.  Single rooms going quickly, please email to check availability.  roawomensworkshop@gmail.com

We are glad you will be joining us, especially newcomers.  Respect and kindness towards others are essential at the Roanoke Women’s Workshop. Humility, love and service are guiding principles of Alcoholics Anonymous.

This workshop welcomes all self-identifying women, including trans and AFAB non-binary.

If you have a question about any of our policies, please email us with your name, number, and question and a member of the steering committee will get back with you.

We believe it is imperative to have open, kind, and honest conversations. Remember, 1) Does it need to be said?  2) Do I need to say it? and 3) Is it kind?
